Applications from the deserving applicants are invited for the post of Senior Expert in Household Income and Expenditure Surveys at UNDP. Languages required for the job are English and Arabic. Job location is Kuwait and expected duration of assignment is 12 months.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Render technical support to CSB’s team tasked with preparing the said report.
- Propose best practice approach and formats for the report.
- Conduct data analysis and projection on various aspects such as social, economic, business..etc.
- Execute the requirements of (CSB) of this mission.
- Delivery of more complete and detailed economic statistics data for use by the CSB.
- Development of an adequate package of national indicators and statistical information to serve economic decision makers.
Methodology:
- The consultancy will adopt the modern mathematical statistics and econometric tools in analyzing the results of the Household Income and Expenditure Survey.
- Training of counterparts on analysis of Household Income and Expenditure Survey data and estimation of minimum standard of living.
The Consultant shall undertake the following tasks:
- Compare the preliminary and final results of the Household Income and Expenditure Survey 2007/2008 and assess data quality and processing at the aggregated level.
- Determine minimum standard of living lines for limited income groups.
- Compare expenditure averages between 1999/2000 and 2007/2008 household surveys.
- Determine relative weights for goods (Basic and Luxury).
- Prepare a Report on the final results of the Household Income and Expenditure Survey 2007/2008 which includes: average expenditures tables, income distribution, income, elasticity for the various groups of goods according to the final distribution of weights.
Qualifications and Experience :
- Advanced Degree in Economics or Econometrics (Quantitative Economics).
- Extensive experience in statistical analysis and micro-econometric modeling (minimum five years).
Language Requirements:
- English and Arabic are required.
