UN Habitat has invited applications from eligible and deserving applicants for the job/vacancy of Consultant-Building and Construction Regulatory Expert. Kindly note that this is home-based job with travel to Hargeisa and other cities in Somaliland, the state of Somalia. The duration of this consulancy is 2 months.
Education
Advanced degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or building and construction regulation related disciplines.
Professional Experience
Minimum 7-10 years experience in civil engineering, architecture and practice in developing countries context; Experience working with building and construction regulatory frameworks, building design standards for developing countries is a must; Experience in post-conflict and prop-poor countries situations is preferred.
Language
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post fluency in oral and written English is required; Knowledge of Somali language is an added advantage.
Other
Be familiar with and loyal to the goals of UN-Habitat and UN. Willingness to travel to Somalia. Sound judgment, analytical skills, networking and interpersonal skills, and report/project writing skills.
