International Justice Mission (IJM) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Accounting Manager, Accounts Payable in Washington DC, United States.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Accounting Manager, Accounts Payable will perform the following functions-
- Oversee all processes related to Accounts Payable (AP) and manage a team of three Accounts Payable Specialists.
- Evaluate and provide guidance on application of set policy and best practices in expenses reporting, adapting to organizational growth and improvements.
- Manage the development of and adherence to agreed-upon controls around AP.
- Ensure proper documentation of set policy by maintaining the HQ Finance Manual and providing edits to the Accounting Manual as needed.
- Recommend process improvements and update current procedures in conjunction with the upcoming rollout of a new Enterprise Resource Planning system.
- Understand, utilize and assess chart of accounts for proper reporting to various funding sources, projects, activities, departments, and functions.
- Reconcile the AP sub ledger to the general ledger on a quarterly basis.
- Manage the year-end close process as related to AP, including reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and preparation of closing entries.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or CPA Candidate strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in general ledger accounting; minimum 3 years’ experience in accounts payable; management experience strongly preferred.
- Significant experience with the general ledger within a sophisticated electronic financial system.
- Demonstrated ability to properly create and record complex transactions, ensuring proper categorization.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain Excel worksheets.
- Superior administrative capacity to manage a large number of projects and tasks simultaneously and to complete them with minimal oversight.
