United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Finance Associate in Copenhagen, Denmark. The duration for the post is of 1 year.
UNOPS mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Finance Associate will perform the following functions-
- Full compliance with UNOPS rules and regulations of project financial processes, financial records and reports and implementation of the effective internal control framework.
- Elaboration of the content of internal Standard Operating Procedures in Finance in consultation with, the direct supervisor and Finance Group management.
- Maintenance of ledgers and accounting records, recording financial transactions, carryout reconciliation of accounts and preparation of recurring or special reports.
- Timely entry of transactions and timely submission of monthly accounts; adherence to UNOPS Financial Rules and Regulations in all financial transactions.
- Clarification and response to queries and observations of auditors (both internal and external).
- Communication with colleagues/clients on areas requiring verification, corrections, additional information, etc. to improve quality of output and/or account submission and increase knowledge base in the process.
- Review of finance data and supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and correctness of account entries.
- Assistance with month end and year-end financial closure tasks.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Secondary education required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or any related field and Professional Certifications CA, ACCA etc will an added advantage.
- Minimum of 6 years in finance experience and experience in handling of web-based management systems.
- Minimum of 2 years of UN working experience is desired.
