Key Job Responsibilities
The Finance and Awards Manager will perform the following functions-
- Provide the primary financial and grants management inputs into emergency response programme, and ongoing support to develop best practice emergency financial and grants management procedures and processes.
- Responding to emergency as the finance & grants focal person in the emergency response team based in Guinea, working with other emergency departments in Guinea to ensure that there is a coordinated response in line with best practices.
- In an emergency environment, assist in transition and work with existing country finance team to ensure that best practices are adopted after emergency activity is completed.
- Providing short term interim financial management and/or capacity building support to ongoing emergencies.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- A minimum of 3 years management experience in a corporate or an NGO environment, of which three at a management level within the finance department of a national or international organization.
- Excellent experience of budgeting and budget management.
- Excellent understanding of financial systems and procedures.
- Excellent experience of computerized accounts packages, Excel, PowerPoint and Word Experience of general administration work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to build a small, proactive team, motivating staff and working collaboratively with colleagues and providing support and advice as necessary.
- Fluency in French and English.
- Ability to present, discuss and supervise compliance with awards monitoring protocols with team of various levels.
