The World Bank is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Financial Analyst, based in Chennai, India.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Financial Analyst will perform the following functions-
- Play a key role as a member of IBRD Corporate Finance financial analytics team in updating and monitoring IBRD’s financial projections.
- Independently develop financial models required for a variety of different financial simulations and scenario analysis.
- Contribute to the management and enhancement of the IBRD Income and Capital Adequacy Projection model to ensure robustness of the projection model, including model back-testing and necessary revisions to reflect changes in financial products and policies.
- Contribute to IBRD’s medium-term income and balance sheet projections, including reflecting actual portfolio and balance sheet information.
- Utilize projection output and financial analysis to monitor the institution’s income dynamics and financial outlook.
- Carry out a range of financial analysis required to assess IBRD’s capital and income adequacy to support lending and other development activities and develop proposals to safeguard the Bank’s financial strength while enabling effective utilization of its financial capacity in fulfilling its development mandate.
- Support DFICF management in responding to analytical requests from Senior Management and the Board.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Advanced degree in Finance, Business Administration or Economics. CFA a plus.
- At least 3 years of relevant working experience.
- Strong financial modeling skills and experience in independently and quickly building complex and sophisticated financial models to respond to a variety of different analytical needs.
- Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills; attention to details while maintaining focus on the big picture.
- Good understanding of Corporate finance theories and techniques.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent MS Excel skills, including ability to develop macro and VBA in modeling.
- Ability to summarize and present analytical results in a clear, concise and convincing manner through PowerPoint presentations or word documents.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a great team player.
