The International Accounting Manager will be responsible for the accounting and reporting of international consulting operations at Abt Associates Inc.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The International Accounting Manager will perform the following functions-
- Responsible for overseeing all accounting, from transaction processing through financial statement preparation (and branch reporting), for the company’s international branches and non-US legal entities assigned in the portfolio. This responsibility includes focus on foreign exchange accounting, inter-company accounting and reconciliation, translation, elimination and consolidation.
- Review and assist in the preparation of reconciliations and related analysis for international locations. Meet monthly to review results of reconciliation and to recommend corrective action if required. Assist in the development of policy, procedure and control in this area.
- Directly manage site Finance & Accounting Managers in the successful execution of their responsibilities. Conduct annual reviews and incorporate goals and objective in accordance with Abt policy. Provide regular feedback on performance of site F&A Managers.
- Assist in the identification and implementation of improvements and efficiencies in the area of transaction processing. Assure that process improvement is not gained at the loss of data integrity.
- Assist in the improvement and implementation of automated processes. These include time and expense accounting in an Oracle environment and local disbursement accounting currently conducted in Quicken.
- Assist and support client-directed and regulatory agency audits of international and global operations on an as-needed basis.
- Foster a team spirit and service orientation.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor with 10 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated international accounting skills and experience required.
- Proficiency in working with and improving automated accounting processes.
- Ability to work with and achieve results with a diverse group of personnel located in many countries.
- Familiarity with accounting in a US government-contracting environment.
- International accounting & management in a professional services firm.
- Involvement/experience in international tax matters.
- S government (USAID) administrative compliance experience.
- Significant accounting application software knowledge and use.
