Amnesty International (AI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Payroll Accountant in London, United Kingdom. The duration for the post is of 1 year.
The Payroll Accountant works to maintain and develop the payroll function of the IS, including payroll processing, review and tax matters.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Payroll Accountant will perform the following functions-
- Ensure timely, accurate and efficient processing of payroll, including overseas IS offices, to ensure employees are correctly paid.
- Manage payroll tax matters (PAYE, NIC etc.) to ensure tax liabilities and other related external reporting is met in a timely fashion.
- Taking responsibility for updating the payroll reporting and monitoring payroll analysis codes.
- Assist in the reconciliation of travel claims and salary deductions as required.
- Provide support for month end processes which may include activities such as managing accruals, posting journals, monitoring prepayments and reviewing costs to budget.
- Assist in the audit process and in timely preparation of the annual statutory accounts and other relevant reporting requirements.
- Support the Financial Accounting Manager through preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Provide Cover for the following: Managing tax issues, foreign exchange reporting and liaising with Regional Offices.
- To take on ad-hoc tasks to support the Central Finance team members as deemed appropriate by the Financial Accounting Manager.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- ACA, CIMA or ACCA part qualified or newly qualified.
- Degree 2:2 or above.
- Experience in Payroll processing.
- Strong accounting and control experience.
- UK Tax experience.
- Systems experience, Intermediate excel (preferred), Sun, Vision (preferred),ADP (preferred).
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with people of different teams, levels and countries.
- Conducts themselves professionally in terms of dealing with peers and management.
- Excellent organized, efficient and resourceful.
