Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Regional Internal Auditor in Mozambique.
The Regional Internal Auditor will be responsible for conducting an independent appraisal of all the activities of both units, financial and otherwise.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Regional Internal Auditor will perform the following functions-
- Plan, conduct and report to the audit committee(s) and to AKF Geneva on internal financial and operational audits for AKF (Moz) and AKF (Mdg).
- Audit scope will include review of all operational and programming aspects of the units and examination of the finance and accounting functions, and making recommendations to management for improvements in the units’ internal operating, financial and accounting procedures, and systems.
- Assist with carrying out specific studies as directed by the local audit committee(s) or the CEOs either independently or as part of capacity-building projects within the Network.
- Assist in monitoring and updating the risk management systems for AKF (Moz) and AKF (Mdg).
- Conduct internal financial and operational audits and other work related to programme and administrative functions according to annual plans approved by the audit committee(s) or senior management.
- Assess the level of internal financial and administrative management and controls to assist AKF units to ensure that all programmes follow established and approved internal and, where applicable, donor requirements, policies and procedures.
- Prepare and issue internal audit reports detailing findings and recommendations in consultation with local management as applicable.
- Assist in developing AKF-wide financial, administrative and risk management policies and procedures as required.
- When required, and in conjunction with the AKF Finance Department, provide training to AKF staff.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- An accounting/internal auditing degree and/or formal accounting/auditing qualification.
- Three to five years experience with a multinational organization.
- Diplomacy and sensitivity to different cultural situations is critical.
- Ability to work independently and without close supervision is necessary as are good organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required.
- Knowledge of French and Portuguese would be beneficial.
- Flexibility and willingness to undertake travel including in difficult areas.
