United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Chief, Human Resources Services in New Delhi, India.
The Chief, Human Resources Services will build, develop and maintain a workforce that is competent, capable and motivated to achieve the objectives of the India Country Office (ICO).

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Chief, Human Resources Services will perform the following functions-
- Work in close cooperation with managers to ensure the timely recruitment of the most competent staff for the ICO. Within the UN rules and regulations, and in consultation with the major stakeholders, develop and implement appropriate processes, including – future planning, sourcing candidates, selection using appropriate techniques, and for local/national staff, management of the offer and acceptance process.
- Take the lead in the objective to ensure that all staff in the ICO have clear and relevant work goals to achieve, are given regular and honest feedback on their performance, and a personal development plan that will help them gain or update their skills and experience. Support managers and staff by way of advice and coaching, and implementation of appropriate initiatives eg development assignments and P2D.
- Support the development of staffs’ skills and competencies, so that they remain up-to-date, relevant and at the highest level. Working alongside managers and with the HR Development Team, develop and implement valuable, practical and cost effective learning initiatives. These will take into account new directions/strategies of the Office, plus personal development plans, and will include formal training as well as support to individual self-development.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- An advanced university degree (Master`s) in Human Resources, Business Administration, International Relations, Social Sciences, Psychology or a directly-related technical area(s) is required.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible relevant work experience, at the national and international levels, in human resources planning and management is required.
- Previous hands on experience in a supervisory/managerial capacity are required.
- Work experience in emergency duty station is an asset.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
- Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is considered an asset.
