Asian Development Bank (ADB) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Country Director in Dili, Timor-Leste.
The Country Director will Oversee and provide the primary operational interface between ADB and Government donor partners, civil society and other stakeholders in Timor-Leste and maximize the efficiency and impact of ADB operations in that country.
The ADB aims for an Asia and Pacific free from poverty.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Country Director will perform the following functions-
- Take responsibility for establishing and cascading ADB’s vision, goals, development strategies and key result areas (KRAs) in the Timor-Leste Resident Mission (TLRM).
- Lead and oversee the planning, implementation and supervision of results-based work plans as well as in monitoring the quality of output and the achievement of long-term goals and annual objectives for the Pacific Department in support of ADB’s goals and in compliance with ADB policies.
- Take responsibility for ADB’s relationship with the Government, development partners, general public, academia, media, and civil society in Timor-Leste.
- Work in close partnership with the Headquarters (HQ) colleagues and other members of the country team to ensure consistent and coherent approaches, messages, and policy advice to the Government and development partners.
- Lead preparation of the results-based Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) and Country Operations Business Plan (COBP).
- Oversee the formulation and implementation of Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) and annual Country Operations Business Plans (COBPs) in close coordination with government clients, other development partners, private sector, civil society, and PARD and other Headquarters (HQ) Departments and Offices.
- Ensure that CPS and COBPs are prepared in line with the consultation process requirements of ADB.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master’s Degree or equivalent, in economics, development studies, engineering or related fields.
- University degree in economics, development studies, engineering or related fields, combined with specialized experience in similar organization/s may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree.
- Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level.
- At least 15 years relevant experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- International experience working in development in several countries.
