The Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Country Director in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The Country Director will be responsible for assuring the financial stability and viability of the country program.
ISC’s mission is to help communities around the world address environmental, economic, and social challenges to build a better future shaped and shared by all.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Country Director will perform the following functions-
- Strategic Leadership: Contribute to ISC’s strategic vision for the future of its Bangladesh program. Advise the Asia Regional Director and ISC senior management on important opportunities, trends and developments and their potential impact on the program.
- Program Quality: Ensure excellent implementation of the EHS+ Center project and meet project targets.
- Business Development: actively identity and pursue new partners and clients for the EHS+ Center as well as new programming opportunities in accordance with ISC’s Strategic Direction and Country Plan.
- Representation: Develop and sustain positive, professional relationships with donors, implementation partners, host government officials, NGO colleagues, industry leaders, community leaders, media and other stakeholders.
- Budgeting and Financial Management: Provide overall country program budget management. Supervise and ensure compliance of accounting, finance and procurement functions.
- Human Resources Management: Manage and develop the ISC Bangladesh team, including recruitment and staff performance management. Ensure sound office management and efficient work processes. Supervise a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, maintaining collaborative, team relationships in a fast-paced work environment.
- Communication and Authorizations: Communicate regularly with ISC headquarters on all key security, programmatic, country and staff issues through regular monthly updates. Develop, maintain and distribute quality programmatic materials. Assure that proper channels of communication are maintained and respected.
- Security: Develop and implement security policies in coordination with UN, US and local authorities. Promote and monitor staff adherence to all policies.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Advanced degree in International Development, Business Management or a relevant technical field.
- At least seven years of overseas experience (ideally in Asia), preferably in a developing country environment, with project management, staff management and fundraising responsibilities.
- Experience in working and coordinating with the UN, EU, US, international and national NGOs and government agencies.
- Experience managing public-private partnerships and working with corporations strongly preferred.
- Strategic thinker and creative problem-solver with an open and collaborative work style.
- Excellent communication and representation skills.
- Proven analytical, organizational, and supervisory skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
