United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Field Office Assistant in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The duration for the post is of 3 months.
The Field Office Assistant provides support to the Field Operations Officer with the main aim of liaising with the field offices in order to ensure their functionality, the day-to-day operations of the mission, coordinating mission progress and implementation.
UNOPS mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.
Key Jobs Responsibility
The Field Office Assistant will perform the following functions-
- Support Filed Operations Officer in term of field operational capacity.
- Guaranteeing needed logistical support to technical team operating at field level.
- Organizing and planning field operations, through detailed operational schedules, task assignment, and definition of responsibilities, tools elaboration and enforcement.
- In collaboration with the Field Operations Officer will ensure they are following instruction and maintaining records as foreseen by project procedures.
- Ensure correct functioning of field offices by ensuring correct flow of information and correct interpretation of procedures.
- Assist the Field Operations Officer with the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and yearly operational plans.
- Assist the Field Operations Officer with the production of all the necessary statistics and reports.
- Assist the Field Operations Officer in all the day to day project activities in accordance with the field operations work plans.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the Field Operations Officer when and where required.
- Efficient ad adequate operational capability at field level.
- Aligned procedures in place.
- Project support staff coordinated.
- Controlled environment (adequate support) for works supervision activities.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Administration or Project Management related field. Applicants with a relevant Secondary School certification with additional 4 years of relevant working experience may also be considered.
- 2 years of general infrastructure related experience is required at the national level, of which at least 1 year in providing similar related services (operational planning and organization). Field experience is also required.
- Fluency in written and oral English is required.
