Greenpeace International is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Head of Forest Campaign in Toronto or Montreal, Canada.

Key Jobs Responsibility
The Head of Forest Campaign will perform the following functions-
- Planning, developing, implementing and evaluating an international campaign which inspires, mobilizes and engages people and delivers concrete conservation outcomes.
- Coordinating the development of objectives, strategies, milestones and program activities in order to achieve a well-integrated, successful forest campaign.
- Providing team leadership. Managing, motivating, evaluating and facilitating the work of the team members while inspiring and encouraging innovation in all aspects of their work.
- Determining priorities, assigning responsibilities, and supervising staff.
- Identifying staff training needs.
- Providing expert advice to GPC’s Program Director and GPI’s unit heads in the assigned program area on all relevant campaign issues and plans.
- Acting as a campaign spokesperson with the media.
- Exchanging information and maintaining relationships with other non-governmental organizations (NGOs), corporations and government officials.
- Engaging with other Greenpeace national offices and Greenpeace International.
- Working with the campaign team to organize public events (e.g. conferences, protests, demonstrations and actions), preparing written materials, communicating with government officials and industry representatives.
- Making presentations and responding to public speaking requests.
- Carrying overall responsibility for the forest campaign budget, allocating funds and ensuring that all expenditures are kept within the agreed budget.
- Ensuring financial and administrative procedures are followed by the team. Developing and maintaining relationships with foundations.
- Being part of Greenpeace’s campaign management team. Contributing to the design of policies and strategies of the overall organization.
- Undertaking other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Knowledge of and ability to provide specialized campaign knowledge combined with a demonstrated commitment, knowledge and passion for environmental and social justice issues.
- Experience working on or leading international campaigns including corporate campaigns.
- Proven knowledge of traditional and digital media techniques, tactics, audience and structure in order to increase awareness and gain public campaign support.
- Understanding of social media and other public engagement communication tools.
- Knowledge of Indigenous rights, the history of colonization in Canada, present day impacts, and anti-oppression theories.
- Knowledge of and experience with fundraising, financial management, budget preparation and control.
- Proven knowledge of and experience with people management practices including previous experience supervising and evaluating staff including remote staff.
- Proven experience fostering a culture of excellence and innovation by actively sharing knowledge and striving for continuous improvement.
- Ability to coordinate projects and work with colleagues from a distance, involving multiple offices and time zones in a global environment.
- Ability to relate effectively and work collaboratively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills including public speaking and presentation skills, as well as strong listening abilities.
- Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and proceed with objectives without supervision, yet participates effectively as part of a team.
- Flexible, collaborative personality.
- Bilingualism (English/French) will be considered a strong asset.
