World Education (WE) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Monitoring and Evaluation Director in Gaborone, Botswana.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Director will be responsible for overseeing all monitoring, evaluation and research activities for the program.
World Education improves the quality of life through education for half a million children and adults in 22 countries.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Monitoring and Evaluation Director will perform the following functions-
- Develop M&E and research tools and develop and maintain systems to collect and analyze information on inputs, outputs, outcomes and impact of the program.
- Support partners to develop, capture, consolidate and report on mutually identified indicators and ensure high quality and timely reporting of data and monitoring.
- Conduct supportive supervisory visits to sub grantees to observe, monitor and provide guidance and quality feedback on the use of data and indicators.
- Analyze monthly data and support training of M&E personnel in quality assurance methods.
- Provide technical advice in the design and implementation of data collection exercises (e.g., baseline and end line surveys; regular performance monitoring, etc.).
- Develop or adapt available M&E training materials for program and partner use.
- Identify best practices and provide recommendations.
- Train and mentor staff and sub grantees in various aspects of M&E and research and assist them to use M&E systems.
- Oversee operational research, qualitative studies and policy briefs to assess the impact of program activities.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master’s Degree or higher in monitoring and evaluation, public health, demography, health management, social science, biostatistics, statistics, or a related field is required.
- At least three years of experience supervising monitoring, evaluation and research efforts, preferably with respect to child welfare and protection systems strengthening, capacity building, economic strengthening, and service delivery.
- Demonstrated strong quantitative or mixed-method and analytical skills and ability to articulate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated strong skills using MS Excel Word, PowerPoint and Access, and at least one data management software program (SAS, SPSS) and experience training others is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, depth and breadth of technical management expertise and experience, and strong interpersonal, writing and oral presentation skills.
- Extensive knowledge of USAID reporting requirements will be an added advantage.
