Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Nepal Senior Green Growth Analyst in Nepal.
GGGI is dedicated to supporting the transition of GGGI Member countries towards a green growth model by developing and implementing strategies that simultaneously achieve poverty reduction, social inclusion, environmental sustainability and economic growth.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Nepal Senior Green Growth Analyst will perform the following functions-
- Strategic Alignment Analysis: Support the GGGI-Nepal team with the scoping and assessment of key government policies and strategies and their relationships to the two key green growth entry points: LCEDS and 14th 7YP. The LCEDS is a strategy to maintain Nepal’s low carbon emissions while ensuring vibrant economic growth over the long term.
- GGPA Technical Input: Support the GGPA team at GGGI HQ to disseminate the GGPA methodology and contextualize it to Nepal, carry-out assessments to understand Nepal’s circumstances in relation to pursuing green growth, conduct desk research and analysis on GGPA’s green growth indicators for Nepal, identify and accommodate for gaps in data availability, and contribute to the assessment of priority sectors relevant to Nepal’s green growth.
- GGPA Validation: Arrange and facilitate the validation process for the GGPA (including all workshops, preparatory meetings, and expert consultations).
- CPF: Contribute to the development of Country Program Framework (CPF) by incorporating GGPA and any additional strategic/economic analysis.
- Quality Control: Ensure programmatic coherence and quality control for GGGI’s 2016 outputs and deliverables.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Minimum of Master’s degree in economics, political science, international relations, environment, etc. preferably with an emphasis in the Nepal context.
- At least five to seven years of substantive experience in Nepal with national level economic analysis and stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated experience conducting and presenting macroeconomic assessment, policy analysis, strategic alignment, green growth diagnosis, sector analysis, etc.
- Extensive experience in green growth relevant research and policy analysis.
- Extremely strong English communication (speaking, writing and presentation) skills, including publication of written material and ability to produce high-quality visual aids.
- Knowledge and experience of working with high-level government officials and development partners in Nepal.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English and Nepali is a requirement.
