Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Program Administrative Assistant will perform the following functions-
- Assist in the preparation of budgets.
- Manage budget implementation and the allocation of budget between the core office and other foundation offices in Africa that house unit staff.
- Liaise regularly with OSF Budget and Finance, and Foundation Finance teams, mediate any challenges as necessary.
- Provide support to other foundation offices in Africa that house unit staff, and work closely with them to ensure that financial (spending) information is accurate and up to date.
- Prepare analysis of the monthly budget versus actual reports.
- Provide feedback on functionality of finance and budget systems.
- Organize travel and assist in preparation of meetings, conferences, seminars and special events.
- Process expenses and reimbursement requests.
- Promote a healthy spirit of teamwork and communication within the AfRO team through participating in regular meetings and exchange of information.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- At least three to five years previous finance administration work experience.
- Excellent written, verbal, organizational and analytical skills in English.
- Extraordinary initiative, creativity and capacity to think strategically.
- Integrity, confidentiality, and professional discretion essential.
- Appreciation of diversity in the work place and inclusive approach.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide array of people with diverse backgrounds throughout a complex organization.
- Technologically competent, experienced with database systems, including the ability to operate spreadsheets and word processing programs at a highly proficient level.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities.
- Organized and able to be self-directed on work initiatives.
- Willingness to travel as required.
