United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Programme Management Officer in Paris, France.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Programme Management Officer will perform the following functions-
- Prepare and oversee development of partnership agreements and/or project documents to initiate CCAC trust fund projects within approved initiatives, and/or project amendments to facilitate continuation of ongoing projects as required, in support of the work of lead partners and in close coordination with the administrative services of UNEP and United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
- Monitor and oversee implementation of agreements, and ensure swift corrections; revise outputs and reports, approve payments against delivery; and guide consultants with specific roles in coordinating activities.
- Provide guidance to stakeholders in project development, undertake overall management, monitor and evaluate projects in relation to specific initiatives as inputs to the Annual reports of CCAC.
- Monitor performance of the implementation rates against indicators and goals/targets; funds deployed from the Trust Fund to initiatives, including assessing available resources, cashflow and regularly revise budgets.
- Provide support to Partner governments, cities, other stakeholders and actors in the initiatives, develop, enhance and implement national policies and action plans to reduce Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (SLCPs), including actively facilitating peer-to-peer engagement to Partners to substantially reduce their (SLCP emissions in specific initiatives such as municipal solid waste.
- Collaborate with partners to generate enabling conditions for financing national and sub-national SLCP actions including integration of SLCPs into development plans financed through external resources.
- Contribute to preparation of meetings and workshops, and in implementing plans and decisions set out by CCAC governance meetings, through contributions to reports, background papers, and presentations on progress.
- Contribute to the development of annual work-plans, budgeting and reporting, including improvement of compliance with the ‘Partners in Action’ reporting and templates.
- Liaise with UNEP and other partner bodies as required to ensure effective implementation of the CCAC strategic plan.
- Coach team members and partners, as required.
- Perform other duties as required (including as advisor within DTIE).
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in sciences, environmental engineering, public administration, business administration or a related field.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience in programme management in a relevant field, including minimum of three years at the international level.
- Experience in governmental or intergovernmental organizations is desirable.
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in written and oral English is required.
- Working knowledge of another UN official language is desirable.
