World Vision International (WVI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Project Assistant in Hargeisa, Somalia. The duration for the post is of less than 1 year.
The Project Assistant will be responsible for the project implementation in Burco with frequent travel to the field.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Project Assistant will perform the following functions-
- To prepare the community for the establishment of the village saving and loans groups.
- Establish Village Savings & Loans (VS&L) schemes among the support groups.
- Help the group members understand the concept and their respective roles and responsibilities.
- Build the capacity of group members step by step to function effectively.
- Training supports groups on Village Savings and Loans.
- Facilitate group members to assess different aspects of their functioning on a regular basis.
- Conduct village visits to VS&L members.
- Selection of focal person within support groups and provides them with specialized counseling training so that they train group members.
- Provide material support to fistula groups so that they provide peer counseling.
- Hold awareness meeting with leaders to create awareness on harmful traditional practices.
- Hold community meetings, dialogues & intergenerational meetings.
- Create dialogue between Government, local NGOs, CBOs and networks.
- Workers treat animal diseases.
- Assist in the implementation of project activities with specific focus on grants and advocacy to ensure consistency with project objectives.
- Develop appropriate tools to be used for monitoring and reporting on groups ‘progress.
- Participate in regular lessons learned feedback sessions with the project team.
- Facilitate community mobilization activities and ensure that community, fully participate the project activities.
- Assist in compiling of all monitoring information on a regular basis and documentation of lessons learnt from field visits and project activities.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Community Development or any other relevant field.
- Minimum 4 years working experience with INGOs in the field of Livelihoods at mid-management level.
- Prior experience in Village Savings and Loans (VS&L) groups.
- Experience in the use of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages.
- Ability to perform a variety of standard tasks related to programs management, including screening and collecting of program/ projects documentation, projects data entering, preparation of revisions, filing, and provision of information.
- Flexible, with ability to work and handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to provide continuous input on the organization’s processes implementation of new systems etc.
- Strong planning, organization and problem solving skills with ability to work hands-on, independently, and within a team.
- Strong communication (written & spoken) and interpersonal skills.
- Nationality of Somalia.
