The Oxfam International is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Senior Governance Advisor based in Oxford, UK.
Program Director is responsible to drive and manage high quality program delivery in line with Oxfam’s strategic direction to achieve our theory of change.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Senior Governance Advisor will perform the following functions-
- Develop a new cycle that reflects recent changes in our governance set up including embedding the accountability between the Secretariat, Executive Board/ committees and the Supervisory Board.
- Instituting a new approach to agenda setting.
- Ensuring information and decision processes and flows between management and governance layers are clear and working and specifically.
- Develop a clearing house / dispute resolution process for items that fall between or across EB committees.
- Identifying key dependencies and prerequisites that need governance sign off.
- Ensuring that in all areas there is a consistent approach to preparing the necessary resolutions that are fit for sign off.
- Develops and implements a communications strategy to ensure effective communications to the wider Oxfam system happens both before and after key governance events (Board meetings, committee meetings, telcons).
- Provides advice/technical support to OIMT and senior staff who prepare inputs for the Board.
- Advises and coaches the Governance Manager.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Experienced in developing organizational strategies and plans for communication and measuring effectiveness;
- Experienced in managing and developing others, including matrix management;
- Strong conflict resolution skills;
- Effective negotiation abilities and informal leadership skills in a multi-stakeholder, network environment;
- Demonstrable organisational and project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects to deadlines;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Ability to liaise with a wide range of people, both internally and externally and at many levels, with credibility, tact and diplomacy;
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with demonstrable ability to lead, influence and motivate others;
- Fluent spoken and written English.
