Asian Development Bank (ADB) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Senior Legal Officer in Manila, Philippines.
The Senior Legal Officer will provide independent legal advice and support in the processing and administration of sovereign and non-sovereign operations.
The ADB aims for an Asia and Pacific free from poverty.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Senior Legal Officer performs the following functions-
- Provides independent advice and assists counsels on legal aspects relating to sovereign and no sovereign operations, such as preparation of loan agreements and project implementation, preparation of mandate letters and confidentiality agreements.
- Prepares draft documents and advice on legal aspects related to sovereign and no sovereign operations, both for project preparation and administration.
- Provides assistance to counsels with processing and reviewing all legal aspects of the project, including conducting legal due diligence, preparation of investment documentation, and preparing all other legal documents consistent with ADB’s internal law, lending and other operational policies.
- Obtains and reviews legal documents and administration matters, including legislation that may affect the project.
- Leads the team in identifying legal issues that may arise from project design, including issues related to environmental and social safeguards.
- Provides assistance in the review of transaction advisory services documents, government procedures in DMCs, risk assessment documents and procurement matters.
- Processes disbursement requests of no sovereign loans and equity investments, including checking of conditions precedent to funding and assisting with other closing procedures.
- Assists with administration matters, including covering waiver requests and dealing with other documentation matters throughout the term of the investment.
- Provides assistance with recovery procedures, including enforcement of security and litigation; loan restructuring and work-out matters; and disposals of ADB investments.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor’s degree in Law and member of the Philippine Bar, preferably with Master’s Degree or equivalent.
- At least 10 years relevant experience in entire project cycle from processing to implementation as well as in research-related activities.
- Familiarity with project documentation and conducting legal due diligence.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Excellent analytical skills; attention to details; ability to concentrate.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to manage time to handle heavy workloads involving multiple projects.
