The Norlha is currently inviting applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Senior Project Designer, based in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Norlha is a non-profit, non-political, non-religious association based in Lausanne, Switzerland, that supports remote communities in the Himalayas in building capacities that will allow their sustainable development, through integrated projects in food security, income generation and environment protection, with a strong focus on supporting women.
Key Job responsibilities
The Senior Project Designer will perform the following functions-
- Explore the opportunities to create new Norlha projects that help people in the Himalayas to have a better life
- Engage with local and international organisations for establishing partnerships around new projects
- Search, analyze and synthesize primary and secondary information
- Formulate project concepts and proposals
- Consult with Norlha staff and partners for adjusting concepts and proposals for relevant and successful projects
- Perform proposal formatting, printing and reproduction
- Ensure the timely transmission of proposals that meet the quality requirements

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Experience in international cooperation including field work in developing countries
- Experience in designing projects and drafting applications for calls for proposals, preferably including those funded by international organisations
- Familiar with project cycle management procedures and tools
- Competent in identifying, organizing and presenting good ideas.
- Ability to effectively mobilize personal networks for assessing opportunities, gathering contribution to concepts and technical specifications, and identifying potential partners
- Commitment to accuracy, consistency, and quality
- Excellent speaking and writing skills in English and preferably also in French
- Good knowledge of development issues in the Himalayas is a definite asset
- Highly motivated and dynamic personality, comfortable working autonomously and in a team, eager to take initiatives.
