World Vision International (WVI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Advocacy, Policy & Peace Building Specialist in Juba, South Sudan. The duration of this post is about 1 to 2 years.
The Advocacy, Policy & Peace Building Specialist will lead the development and implementation of the South Sudan Advocacy/Policy strategy, focusing on both response and non-response themes.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Advocacy, Policy & Peace Building Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Develop WVSS Advocacy, Policy and Peacebuilding Strategy.
- Implement WVSS Advocacy/Policy and Peacebuilding strategy in close collaboration with other agencies and WVSS programme staff.
- Provide ongoing, bi-weekly context analysis of the unfolding situation on the ground based on operational, security, humanitarian and political changes to the ND, RO and SOs.
- Engage with and support local organizations and churches on local and national advocacy and peacebuilding initiatives, linking with relevant internal teams, such as Faith and Development, Operations, PDQA, Communications, etc.
- Identify key national organizations to strategically assist with capacity-building for local advocacy and peacebuilding.
- Work with local civil-society and empower local communities to advocate for their rights.
- Identify funding sources for ongoing and future Advocacy and Peacebuilding function.
- Define Advocacy, Policy and Peace Building focus areas relevant to WVSS ministry and in accordance with the practical and strategic needs of children.
- Build the capacity of WVSS staff to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate Advocacy and Peace Building programs.
- Provide technical advice to WVSS on Advocacy and Peace Building technical issues.
- Develop and update policy positions & messaging on a regular basis.
- Initiate and direct field research & analysis on emerging issues with a focus on relevant themes.
- Build bilateral strategic relationships with aligned policy and advocacy NGOs and civil society.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master’s Degree in International Development, Conflict Resolution/PeaceBuilding or another relevant field.
- Excellent understanding of the dynamics of conflict resolution in the context of war and knowledge of South Sudan.
- Excellent research, policy analysis and report writing skills.
- Minimum 2 years policy and advocacy or peace building experience with strong familiarity with fragile states/contexts.
- Proven ability in relating with national staff and governmental authorities.
- Ability to travel and a flexible approach to living conditions; Able to work in a harsh and demanding environment and adaptable to rapidly changing contexts.
- Experience of managing teams and budgets.
- Knowledge of project management cycle and grant proposal writing.
- Skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
