Save the Children is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Nutrition Advisor in Bangui, Central African Republic. The duration for the post is of 6 months.
The Nutrition Advisor will provide technical support to nutrition programming in CAR, ensuring quality of care is delivered to the beneficiaries.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Nutrition Advisor will perform the following functions-
- Responsible to develop and implement the nutrition strategy and related nutrition interventions in close collaboration with the other sectors (Health/HIV, Child protection, Education).
- Ensure active coordination with other nutrition and health actors. Develop partnerships with local and international health or nutrition partners.
- Organize nutrition assessments/studies, and develop programme proposals according to the needs.
- Oversee the management of the current nutrition activities (CMAM and ANJE), defining a realistic working plan, consolidating monitoring system, tools and ensure compliance with agreed activities.
- Ensure timely production/compilation of monthly and technical reports.
- Analyze trends and evaluate programs by conducting regular field visits and regular communication with field teams.
- Participate in coordination activities in Bangui, will represent Save the Children in external forum and actively contribute in the nutrition cluster.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Qualification of nutritionist, doctor, nurse, midwife, with primary health care / community health care experience.
- Nutrition / Health / Public Health / BSc or equivalent.
- Fluency in written and spoken French (and English).
- Demonstrated experience in Management of Acute Malnutrition programmes.
- Demonstrated experience in the protection promotion and support of breastfeeding in both community and clinical settings.
- Demonstrated management experience, including budget holding responsibility.
- Experience of designing and implementation nutrition programmes, including monitoring and evaluation.
- Experience in conducting assessments and an understanding of nutritional data and information systems.
- Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach staff.
- Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions.
- Prepared to live and work in an uncertain security environment.
- Ability and willingness to frequently travel and stay at the field.
- Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
- Experience and ability to represent Save the Children’s nutrition work in external meetings.
- Demonstrated ability at report writing and excellent communication skills.
- Computer literate.
- Emergency programming experience.
- Qualification as training of trainers in CMAM or IYCF.
- Familiarity with the CMAM guidelines and Operational Guidance on IFE.
