United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Regional Advisor Communication for Development in Amman, Jordan.
The Regional Advisor Communication for Development will be responsible for the design, management, execution, monitoring and evaluation of regional strategies related to communication for social and behavioral change (CSBC) in supporting sustainable results for children in MENA in both developmental and humanitarian contexts.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Regional Advisor Communication for Development will perform the following functions-
- Provide advice to the UNICEF Senior Managers, Country offices and government counterparts on Communication for Development (C4D) programming in line with global standards and organizational Strategic Priorities, Core Commitment for Children (CCCs) & UN reform, and contributes to strengthening the positioning of C4D results in key strategic documents including Country Programme Documents (CPDs), humanitarian appeals, and situation analysis.
- Provide guidance and technical support to MENA countries on formulating implementing and evaluating integrated communication strategies and plans of action for both developmental and humanitarian contexts aiming at:(a) behavior development /change at the individual/ household levels ; (b) social mobilization of civil society organizations; and (c) increased community participation in programs.
- Provide advice and technical support in the development and implementation of tools (qualitative and quantitative) for the monitoring, evaluation and documentation C4D interventions based on applied communication research and frequent visits to project sites.
- Disseminate C4D research findings and best practice and support exchange of experiences and provision of new methods to government officials, programme staff and other UNICEF partners.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Advanced university degree in the social/behavioral sciences, (Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Health Education) with emphasis on strategic communication planning for behavior development, social mobilization, participatory communication, and research, training/facilitation and impact evaluation of communication interventions.
- Minimum 10 years relevant professional work experience in the planning and management of social development programs, International and national work experience in both developed and developing countries and experience in working in humanitarian contexts, with practical experience in the adaptation and application of communication planning processes to specific programs.
- Fluency in English and another UN language. Arabic language is an asset.
