TechnoServe is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Business Development Specialist in Nigeria.
TechnoServe works with enterprising people in the developing world to build competitive farms, businesses and industries.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Business Development Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Identify and select entrepreneurs, farmers and partners for the business.
- Develop business plans and provide business startup support to farmers.
- Create and enhance financial linkages and operational support.
- Build and improve relationships and synergies with sector stakeholders.
- Work with farmers and farmers groups to link them with the products and to processors.
- Participate in and contribute to stakeholder forums.
- Identify new business opportunities and generate new sales leads and contacts for the business.
- Plan and prepare presentations.
- Communicate new product developments to prospective clients.
- Oversee the development of marketing literature.
- Write reports.
- Ability to travel at least 50 percent of the time.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- A master’s degree in business, agriculture or other relevant subject required.
- At least five years of work experience in agribusiness development, marketing, capacity building or project design/management.
- Ability to develop business plans.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- A track record of building strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- An entrepreneurial spirit and be self-motivated.
- Experience in working in challenging, complex and post-conflict countries will be an advantage.
- Citizenship of Nigeria.
