The World Food Programme (WFP) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Business Support Assistant, based in Yangon, Myanmar.
WFP is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Business Support Assistant will perform the following functions-
- Provide pottering and cleaning services (e.g. moving assets, reorganizing/installing workstations, assisting in setting up conference/meeting/event locations, removing waste materials, emergency cleaning, etc.), to facilitate organized and safe work environment.
- Report on works undertaken, services provided, materials used for installations/repairs including accurate generator fuel log books, to support accurate accounting;
- Arrange cargo packing before delivery to sub-offices;
- Operate a variety of office equipment such as photocopier, facsimile, printer, scanners and maintain supplies; produce photocopies of materials as required and collate pages when necessary;
- Provide assistance to all units on filing and document retrieval;
- Provide assistance in physical check and maintenance of inventory, inform the repair and disposal of equipment and material as required, strictly following supervisor’s instructions and WFP assets management guidelines;
- Maintain kitchen equipment and common services area in neat and tidy condition;
- Assist in conference, meeting, and other events set up and ensure good progression;
- Receive telephone calls and office visitors and refer them to the appropriate source or reply personally to simple queries when the Receptionist is not available;
- Cares of all plants and flowers at office buildings and fumigates and disinfects plants for pests and disease;
- Perform other related duties as required.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must have-
- Minimum Secondary school education.
- Two or more years of experience in general administrative work.
- Fluency in both oral and written in English and Myanmar. The ability to communicate in local ethnic language will be an added advantage.
- Other skills-
- Ability to use standard office equipment such as photocopiers and scanners.
- Ability to follow standard business support processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of standard office software packages, e.g. Microsoft word.
- Ability to provide information using courtesy and tact.
- Good attention to details.
- Open for the Myanmar nationals only.
