International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Project Manager I in Dakar, Senegal. The duration for the post is of 2 years.
The Project Manager will coordinate value chain projects under the “Support to Agricultural Research for Development of Strategic Crops in Africa” program.
The mission of IFPRI is to provide research-based policy solutions that sustainably reduce poverty and end hunger and malnutrition.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Project Manager I will perform the following functions-
- Support in research and management of value chain activities in different project done by IFPRI and in collaboration with other CGIAR centers, private sector partners and civil society, in several African countries.
- Coordinate implementation of interventions and impact evaluations.
- Coordinate external consultancy work.
- Coordinate and implement field surveys.
- Collaborate with principal researchers on the different research activities being implemented.
- Write quarterly and annually reports.
- Writes and edits reports, papers, policy briefs, and journal articles.
- Design presentation and outreach materials.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master’s Degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, International Development, International Relations, or related field, with 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in project management, reporting and evaluation of interventions in developing countries.
- Experience in research activities related to agriculture in developing countries.
- Experience in conducting field surveys at the household and value chain level.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize results from social science research for the development community, including policy makers, policy advisers, and researchers.
- Knowledge of STATA and excellent computer skills.
- Excellent writing ability in English.
- Ability to interact and communicate with diverse audiences.
- Ability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally as necessary.
- Proficiency in a second language of the U.N. system.
- Significant experience working in Africa.
