The World Bank Group (WBG) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Operations Analyst in Sydney, Australia.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Operations Analyst will perform the following functions-
- Provide operational, research, statistical and other analytic support related to the Pacific Department’s lending and advisory services and analytics portfolio.
- Contribute to specific operational activities at all stages of the project cycle, including participation in the design and development of specific project components, responsibility for costing, financing and disbursements aspects, drafting of implementation arrangements, co-financing coordination, project supervision, portfolio management activities, Implementation Completion Report preparation, etc.
- Monitor the Pacific Department portfolio on a regular basis (including preparation of the monthly status report) and keep a close track of key milestones and department deliverables.
- Assist with the analysis of portfolio data, operational and country program issues and identify issues and recommend actions/solutions.
- Prepare and update country briefs and presentations.
- Assist with trust fund administration and reporting.
- Provide guidance to task teams on operations and trust fund procedures and help resolve operations/trust fund issues.
- Interact with counterparts within and across operational units, country management units, and global practices at HQ and in the field.
- Coordinate monthly operational meetings for the country management unit.
- Respond to ad hoc information requests from internal and external parties.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- A Masters Degree (MA/MS) in economics, public policy, business administration, social science, or other relevant discipline, plus a minimum of two (2) years of direct relevant experience, or BA/BS in relevant discipline plus five (5) or more years of relevant experience.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and proven ability to apply these in carrying out complex research and operational tasks, identifying issues, presenting findings/ recommendations and contributing to resolution of sector and country issues.
- Strong understanding of project management concepts.
- Excellent data analysis skills.
- Proficiency in Excel with pivot tables, conditional formatting, macros and charts.
- Excellent communications skills, both in oral presentations and in writing sections of papers, briefs, independent reports, etc.
- Excellent skills in wide range of computer programs and in the use of relevant software applications, including Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Willingness and ability to learn new programs.
- Capacity to work simultaneously on a variety of issues and tasks, independently adjusting to priorities and achieving results with agreed objectives and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with internal/external partners and promote collaboration in a multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of and experience in applying Bank operational processes and procedures, and a well-developed understanding of the Bank’s strategy, objectives, work program, and investment portfolio, and of specific country issues.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
