Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Chief Executive Officer in Bangladesh.
The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for leading the ambitious change agenda for Aga Khan Education Service, Bangladesh (AKES, B).
AKDN’s mission is to improve the welfare and prospects of people in the developing world, particularly in Asia and Africa, without regard to faith, origin or gender.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Chief Executive Officer will perform the following functions-
- Collaborating with the Board of Directors of AKES,B and Director of AKES to articulate the organization’s vision and to develop strategies for achieving that vision.
- Creating annual operating plans that support the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors and Director of AKES.
- Providing leadership in rolling out a strategy which transitions and aligns the current provision with the vision for an AKDN education system (ECD through to post-secondary and tertiary).
- Promoting a culture that reflects the values of AKES encourages and rewards good performance and productivity.
- Overseeing the design, delivery and quality of AKES, B’s programmes and services.
- Ensuring that operations are managed in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Making recommendations on policy, programmes and resource allocation, based upon a clear understanding of AKES’s portfolio and on market intelligence.
- Communicating information, as necessary, to ensure that the Board, senior leaders and staff throughout the organization are fully informed.
- Collecting, analyzing and evaluating information that measures the success of AKES,B’s programme efforts, and acting to make changes where necessary.
- Supporting the establishment of an information system for tracking and reporting of academic and management performance.
- Serving as the primary spokesperson and representative for AKES, B.
- Fostering positive relationships with AKDN agencies in Bangladesh and regionally to leverage and optimize opportunities and synergies.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- A MEd or MBA.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position in an educational institution.
- Knowledge and understanding of the international education sector, with in-depth knowledge of local and international curricula.
- Demonstrated experience and success in managing operations, financial and human resources.
- Experience of successfully leading and managing significant change.
- A thorough understanding of contemporary developments in the global education arena and of effective frameworks for school improvement planning.
- Cultural awareness, understanding and sensitivity.
- Strong networking and negotiating skills.
- Ability to develop relationships, to build trust, and to command respect.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think creatively, to solve problems, and to make decisions based on sound judgment.
- Demonstrated professionalism, commitment and integrity.
- Willingness to dedicate the next 5 years to employment at AKES, B.
