The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is currently seeking application from eligible candidates for the post of Economist for Bangladesh Resident Mission the position to be located Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The key responsibilities of Economist
- Provide support to the analyses in carrying out economic, sector and thematic work that underpins ADB’s operational strategies and programs in Bangladesh.
- Liaise with key private sector contacts with a view to understanding the constraints they face in conducting business, and identify areas where ADB could assist.
- Provide support to sub-regional cooperation initiatives and coordination with development partners.
- Actively contribute to the formulation of the Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) and Country Operations Business Plan (COBP), in line with the Developing Member Countries’ (DMCs) development plans and ADB’s medium and long-term strategic frameworks.
- Contribute to regional cooperation initiatives and coordination with development partners. Work with broad policies and objectives, working directly with clients, with supervision for critical tasks.
Eligibility Criteria
Master’s degree, or equivalent, in Economics or other related fields. University degree in Economics, combined with specialized experience in similar organization/s, may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree.
Relevant Experience
- Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level.
- At least 8 years of relevant professional work experience related to country programming, economic and sector policy. formulation and macroeconomic analysis.
- Familiarity with multilateral development bank’s policies and procedures.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English.
- International experience working in several countries.
