Handicap International (HI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Programme Coordinator in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The duration for the post is of 24 months.
HI is an independent charity working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster.
Key Jobs Responsibility
The Programme Coordinator will perform the following functions-
- Under the supervision of the Country Director, and working in direct collaboration with other members of the regional coordination team.
- Ensure and support the general development, management, guidance, coordination and supervision of the HI Bangladesh projects.
- More precisely, the main objectives consist in: – to contribute to the development and implementation of the country programme framework and to give support to the strategic programme management and project development.
- To supervise and support on the project implementation and project management methodology.
- Capacity development of the projects teams and support to domain coordinators and project managers in the effective management of their teams.
- Networking, representation and partnership coordination – internal communication and coordination Size of team to be managed = 4 domain coordinators (rehabilitation, inclusion, emergency response & disaster risk management, rights) Size of budget to be managed = approx 1.3 million euro (estimated 2015) (*)Coordination team = Country Director, Deputy Country Director, Technical Unit Coordinator, Support Services Coordinator, Programme Coordinator.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Masters in Social Science, Development Studies, International Relations or any other relevant field.
- At least 5 years senior management experience in the development and implementation of development programmes.
- Previous experience in the field of physical rehabilitation / social inclusion / mainstreaming disability / Public Health / International Disability and Development is desirable.
- Programming and strategic development skills.
- Strong expertise and experience in Project Cycle Management and its operationalisation in project development and project monitoring & Evaluation.
- Experience in donor proposal and report writing and submission.
- Experience in working with partners and developing partnership agreements.
- Experience in capacity building and service delivery projects.
- Strong capacities in coordination of multi-actor projects.
- Experience on project quality assurance, impact assessment and knowledge management systems.
- Excellent English communication (spoken and written) skills, including the ability to write project proposals/ reports, draft/edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas in a clear, concise style.
- Experience of leading, managing and developing a multi-disciplinary team, conflict prevention and management, stress prevention and management.
- Basic skills in financial procedures, – HR management skills.
- Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills to think and plan strategically.
- Advanced computer skills in Word and Excel.
