Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Communications Specialist, Energy Finance in London, United Kingdom.
CPI’s mission is to help nations grow while addressing increasingly scarce resources and climate risk.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Communications Specialist, Energy Finance will perform the following functions-
- Implement the internal and external communications strategies for CPI’s Energy Finance team.
- Support the writing, editing, and review process for work products from CPI’s Energy Finance team, including analytical papers, presentations, blog posts, and opinion editorials targeted at multiple global audiences – including policymakers, finance leaders, and industry.
- Develop and carry out integrated external communications strategies and plans for individual CPI projects, including meetings with decision-makers and influencers, event and speaking opportunities, media outreach, webinars, social media, and other channels of communication.
- Train and prepare analyst team to be more effective communicators, including in writing and presentation skills.
- Help manage the upkeep and development of CPI’s website, including content development and the pursuit and integration of new social media platforms.
- Support the design and layout of CPI products.
- Work with other regional offices to manage CPI’s brand, on and offline.
- Monitor and track relevant policy developments and activity in Europe and other priority regions.
- Assist with other communications activities as needed.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master’s degree or equivalent in social science, management, business, Commitment to the mission and values of CPI.
- BS or BA required with coursework in journalism, English, or other writing-intensive subject.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in a communications role (could include work in communications strategy, journalism, public affairs, political campaigns, public relations, etc.).
- At least 2 years’ experience providing counsel to clients on communications issues.
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills; superb editing skills, with the ability to restructure as well as copyedit.
- Experience writing in a variety of formats –print publications, web content, briefing papers, press releases, etc.
- Willingness to tackle technical material and proven ability to translate complex qualitative and quantitative analyses into accessible language for expert and non-technical audiences.
- Experience pitching, networking with, and responding to media.
- Project management skills to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, CMS, or HTML.
- Flexibility, professionalism, poise, enthusiasm for working as part of a team, and an ability to maintain a sense of humor and interact with a diverse array of people.
