International Organization for Migration (IOM) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Procurement and Logistics Officer in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia. The duration for the post is of 1 year.
The Procurement and Logistics Officer will be accountable and responsible for ensuring the appropriate implementation of IOM instructions and procedures governing procurement in the Mission.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Procurement and Logistics Officer will perform the following functions-
- In coordination with the RMO manage and conduct overall procurement and logistics actions in the mission, including property and assets control, supply and contractual agreements for services and maintenance.
- Plan, implement and monitor the procurement and logistical needs of the Mission with the COM, RMO and Project Managers.
- Liaise with Project Managers and Head of Sub-offices regarding procurement, logistics and service needs to consolidate overall requirements and optimize purchasing power.
- Analyze procurement requests, identify service providers and evaluate vendor performance in terms of quality, prices and service delivery.
- Oversee bidding processes, solicit bids, quotations and tender documents, evaluate and select suppliers and confirm terms of payment.
- Support all procurement transactions and analyze them for conformity with specified requirements. Prepare purchase orders and ensure authorization by the CoM.
- Coordinate with Global Procurement and Supply Unit and Manila Administrative Centre (MAC) for all purchases above USD 75,000.
- Follow up on the status of purchase orders and keep Project Managers abreast of estimated delivery times or any changes that may affect the delivery conditions.
- Train and supervise procurement and logistics staff in the mission and ensure their compliance with established procedures.
- In coordination with the RMO produce monthly and regular reports.
- Undertake frequent travel to project sites to perform procurement and logistics evaluations and train field staff as necessary.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Logistics, Procurement or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.
- University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional
- Experience with United States Agency for International Development (USAID) programmes required, preferably with USAID’s Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA).
- Experience in operational activities in a complex crisis or emergency area.
- Experience in community-based and/or small-grants programming desirable, particularly in the areas of infrastructure works, procurement and civil society strengthening.
- Excellent level of computer literacy and good knowledge of SAP/PRISM; Previous experience working in the region an advantage.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Working knowledge of any regional languages is an advantage.
