United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Reports Specialist in Amman, Jordan.
The Reports Specialist will oversee and contribute to collection of information, data analysis, planning and drafting of reports, and development of information material targeting donors on issues related to UNICEF Jordan’s Country Programme including its Syria emergency response programme.
UNICEF supports child health and nutrition, good water and sanitation, quality basic education for all boys and girls, and the protection of children from violence, exploitation, and AIDS.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Reports Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Supervise the National Reports Officer as well as consultants on as-needed basis.
- Oversee the tracking of reports due for donors and the development of a coherent system for centralizing, recording and monitoring the Country Office commitment to specific terms and conditions of funding, as may be required by bilateral, multilateral and trust fund donors.
- Monitor and contribute to the updating and maintenance of information on all the donor and programme reporting requirements. Ensure section heads and relevant colleagues are updated on these requirements and follow up as required.
- Compile data for reporting, and confirm the accuracy of data.
- Planning, developing, compiling, drafting and editing of reports to be used for donors, partners, and stakeholders (Including: monthly newsletters, presentations, donor progress and final reports, annual reports).
- Provide one-stop-shop to a number of current and potential donors on UNICEFs programmes in Jordan including coordination with UNICEF programme staff, sharing of fact-sheets, newsletter and other programme related information, organization of visits to UNICEF programmes, and liaison with Government donors, Netcom’s, and other relevant partners and stakeholders.
- In consultation with relevant programme sections, draft concept notes and proposals, and ensure that these are aligned with donor interests and UNICEFs programme priorities under the Country Programme, RRP, and NRP, as well as NLG.
- Responsible for the production of newsletters, donor updates, case studies, appeals specific to donor portfolio as may be required.
- Design and deliver briefing notes for Management when necessary. Provide inputs for background and briefing notes to management and colleagues as necessary.
- Undertake visits to programme sites, when necessary.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Advanced University Degree in social sciences, business administration, public relations, journalism or a related science relevant to the work of UNICEF.
- A first university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Minimum five years of professional work experience in the field of development and/or emergency programming with demonstrated experience in reporting, fundraising, monitoring of programme implementation, and/or communication.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another UN working language such as Arabic is an asset.
