Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Marketing Manager in Canada.
The Marketing Manager will be responsible for the development, management and implementation of the Museum’s marketing initiatives to internal as well as external stakeholders and audiences to drive visitor attendance and museum revenues.
The mission of AKDN is to work to improve the welfare and prospects of people in the developing world, particularly in Asia and Africa, without regard to faith, origin or gender.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Marketing Manager will perform the following functions-
- As the relationship manager for various internal departments, including performing arts, exhibitions, education, development, retail, food & beverage and AKM Park, develop marketing strategies that will sell the AKM to its various markets. Responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans to meet specific annual departmental goals and targets, which reflect the mission and vision of the institution.
- Work closely with Head, Marketing & Communications, to develop, implement and evaluate an institutional marketing strategy and plan that integrates all AKM programs and products.
- Direct and implement destination marketing strategies to tourist markets year round.
- Pursue aggressive cross-promotional opportunities for the AKM through strategic partnerships.
- Develop and implement a Hotel Strategy.
- Develop and implement a research plan to determine target audiences and markets.
- Cultivate relationships with all forms of advertising media in order to maximize coverage in accordance with the marketing strategy and limited resources.
- Establishing priorities, acting as a senior-level liaison for internal and external clients and effectively scheduling work and projects.
- Works with the Communications Manager to ensure marketing materials are engaging, valid and accurate.
- In conjunction with the Communications Manager, contribute to the writing and editing of Web content copy, e-newsletters and e-mail marketing copy.
- Assist with the management of social media applications and maintenance of various online profiles.
- Contribute to social media content and strategy on channels such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
- Stay informed on current marketing and online trends, and participates in planning and implementing online strategies.
- Engage in media monitoring and tracking as required.
- Respond to incoming media requests and coordinating media interviews as needed, including the preparation of briefing documents for spokespeople.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Minimum 8 – 10 years related experience in marketing/agency environment.
- Minimum university undergraduate degree. Marketing, communications and/or non-for-profit related courses an asset.
- Demonstrated success in developing, implementing and analyzing marketing campaigns that generate business.
- Knowledge of marketing and communications concepts, practices and techniques.
- Experience with market and customer research methods.
- Experience with the tourism industry.
- Experience managing relations with advertising agencies.
- Demonstrated excellent written and editorial communication skills.
- Previous on-line/web experiences an asset.
- Strategic thinker and creative problem solver; possessing creativity and imagination.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and to work well under tight timelines or changes in priorities.
- Highly organized, accurate and detail-oriented.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power point.
- Ability to work outside of regular business hours.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic organization.
- Strong managerial and leadership skills.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
- Knowledge and passion for visual arts an asset.
- Previous experience working in a non-profit environment an asset.
