Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Communications Officer will perform the following functions-
- Edit and write accurate, newsworthy and compelling content that will include a mix of hard news, analysis, features, expert interviews, videos and photo essays.
- Write punchy, focused headlines, strap lines and stand firsts.
- Manage, analyze and increase our digital footprint via Google analytics, awards, search engine optimization and other tools.
- Implement our social media strategy and coordinate content: tweets, Facebook and LinkedIn posts.
- Work with our graphics design team to produce and disseminate videos, info graphics and animation.
- Assist with the production of reports and publications.
- Gather and coordinate content and imagery from over 80 projects worldwide.
- Manage award submissions.
- Update the Adam Smith International website with current content.
- Support corporate events.
- Monitor major developments around the world and source opportunities for media coverage.
- Organize and manage a digital, online filing system.
- Manage internal communication notices and produce user-friendly communications and branding guides.
- Support the company’s corporate social responsibility.
- Manage contact databases and assist with other ad-hoc communication tasks as required.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- A degree in English, Journalism or other relevant field.
- Previous practical experience in a communications related role.
- Understanding how to edit and write engaging stories that gets to the core of who, what, when and why it matters – and spot the details that make a story stand out.
- Experience in writing for social and digital media channels.
- A high motivated, energetic and proactive self-starter.
- A keen interest in international development.
- Eligibility to work in UK.
