International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Communications Coordinator in Irapuato, Mexico.
CIMMYT’s mission is to sustainably increase the productivity of maize and wheat systems to ensure global food security and reduce poverty.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Communications Coordinator will perform the following functions-
- Generate and distribute information to promote the adoption of technologies by producers, technicians and local decision makers under the supervision of the Modernization de la Agriculture – Guanajuato office, and in close collaboration with the Communications Office of the Conservation Agriculture Program in CIMMYT’s HQ.
- Collaborate in the implementation of graphic/branding guidelines in the project’s products at the state and regional level.
- Identify needs for materials aimed at promoting communication and science dissemination activities both at the state and regional level.
- Participate in the style corrections of notes, articles, bulletins and other written materials related to the projects.
- Coordinate materials for science and information distributed at the state and regional level.
- Coordinate team members as required in order to keep a schedule of state and regional events.
- Coordinate delivery times, research times, report drafting, releases, articles, technical materials and learning materials.
- Arrange proposal and logistics for interview recordings, testimonials, events and activities related to the Project, ensuring materials are useful and motivational to all stakeholders.
- Write scripts for videos.
- Maintain up-to-date database of all Project activities, both at state and regional level.
- Support the Communications Office and team members of SIP and CIMMYT as required.
- Coordinate communications campaigns at the state level.
- Other duties as directed by the supervisor.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- BA/BS in Communications, Journalism or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in similar roles or activities.
- Oral and written communication skills in English are desirable.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- High level of responsibility, confidentiality, and discretion.
- Ability to work with different nationalities, under pressure and as a member of a diverse work team.
