The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Protection Monitoring Coordinator in Ankara, Turkey.
The Protection Monitoring Coordinator will enable DRC to map and analyze trends of protection threats across the displaced population, to better inform protection programming for DRC and other relevant actors.
DRC is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 1956 that works in more than 30 countries throughout the world, by fulfilling its mandate of providing direct assistance to conflict-affected populations – refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs) and host communities in the conflict areas of the world.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Protection Monitoring Coordinator will perform the following functions-
- Contribute to the DRC’s national protection strategy through input of evidence-based knowledge and trends analysis.
- Oversee daily activities and budget expenditure of PM project.
- Implement and oversee successful use of online data reporting systems.
- Consolidate weekly data reports and produce initial draft of monthly Protection Monitoring Reports.
- Develop, implement and train PM staff on interviewing techniques and communication, confidentiality, referral making, and data security controls.
- Ensure project activity budget expenditure is on track.
- Identify and advocate opportunities to mainstream protection activities, through evidence gained in protection monitoring.
- Regularly travel to field sites to ensure activities are on-track and provide technical support to field staff.
- Support the research and development of two thematic protection reports annually for DRC Turkey.
- Ensure two partners are effectively carrying out PM activities.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- University degree or higher education relevant to law, statistics, social sciences, or related field.
- At least 3 years of proven international experience in field-based protection monitoring experience in humanitarian settings.
- Excellent analysis and report writing skills.
- Knowledge of online data reporting systems, and associated data protection and reporting systems.
- Strong organization skills.
- Proven experience in training, including development of training materials.
- Ability to quickly develop good insight and understanding of the conflict, the human rights situation and the political environment of the program country.
- Fluency in the English language, both written and verbal (knowledge of Turkish or Arabic an advantage).
