Jhpiego is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Web Designer in Baltimore, United States.
The Web Designer will design and produce Internet and Intranet sites that accurately reflect the goals, objectives and identity of Jhpiego and its programs and internal departments.
Jhpiego is dedicated to improving the health of women and families in developing countries.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Web Designer will perform the following functions-
- Create concepts, artwork and layout for sites and other online projects based on creative briefs and client meetings.
- Develop site content and graphics by coordinating with communication associates and graphic artists, designing images, icons, banners, etc.
- Design and develop online and multimedia collateral, including online campaigns, banner ads, slide shows, email marketing, animations, event and meeting announcements and press releases.
- Present designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders.
- Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards.
- Update web page content and layout using a content management system.
- Provide analytics by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- BA with 4+ years of experience in web design, communications or public relations.
- Advanced experience with design and production using web and design software such as Adobe Creative Suite applications.
- Strong foundation in web protocols, such as CSS and HTML5.
- Working familiarity in JavaScript and jQuery.
- Proficiency working with content management systems, such as Drupal and Word Press.
- Proficiency in cross-browser compatibility and testing.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues independently, as needed.
- Proficiency in the use of monitoring tools and web analytics.
- Familiarity with principles of search engine optimization/search engine marketing (SEO/SEM).
- Demonstrated ability to work with both scientific/technical and non technical content (e.g., marketing materials).
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Team player and ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage several activities simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple partners, multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform.
- Awareness of and sensitivity to working in multiple socioeconomic settings and with multicultural groups in a developing country environment.
