Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Research Associate, Community Health Workers in Lusaka, Zambia.
The Research Associate will work closely with academic researchers and IPA staff (including the project’s Sr. Research Associate) to perform a variety of tasks including.
IPA is a research and policy non-profit that discovers and promotes effective solutions to global poverty problems.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Research Associate, Community Health Workers will perform the following functions-
- Plan and oversee field logistics for a nationwide health center and household survey.
- Manage team of 2 Field Managers and up to 70 enumerators, including recruitment, training, and general HR oversight.
- Ensure adherence to data quality protocols, including auditing enumerators, monitoring data collection, and conducting data quality audits.
- Develop and pilot quantitative and qualitative survey instruments; manage translation into local languages.
- Ensure the sound financial management of a $900,000 project budget.
- Manage key relationships with community stakeholders at the national, provincial, district, and village level.
- Assist in writing reports detailing project implementation activities.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- A bachelor’s degree in economics, social sciences, public policy, or related field is required, Masters preferred.
- Excellent management and organizational skills along with strong quantitative skills.
- Experience managing logistics for a large-scale survey is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Stata and CAPI or other programming is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing finances for complex/dynamic projects is required.
- Experience living and working in a developing country is required.
- Fluency in English with strong communication skills; language skills in Nyanja and 1-3 additional Zambian languages is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with randomized controlled trials.
- Flexible, self-motivating, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and team player.
- Demonstrated ability to manage key relationships with partner organizations.
