United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Communication Officer in Amman, Jordan.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Communication Officer will perform the following functions-
- Develop social media strategy within context of UNICEF Global Communication and Public Advocacy Strategy (GCPAS).
- Implement tasks in the RO work plan and strategy as assigned including special projects, reports and features.
- Implement a social media strategy based around UNICEF’s Face book and Twitter accounts and other platforms in both English and Arabic.
- Support Country Offices’ social media efforts by advising on strategies and support capacity development. Support web and social media training for UNICEF staff as needed.
- Oversee gathering, editing and development content (e.g. stories, photos and audio visual material) in English and Arabic to be posted on social media platforms, internet and Intranet.
- Work with country offices in producing compelling social media/ online coverage of programmes demonstrating results for children across the region.
- Design, develop and produce a range of info graphics and other digital materials reflecting UNICEF and partners response to regional crises.
- Build, produce, and troubleshoot web pages on UNICEF’s Children of Syria website. Support design and production team as needed.
- Undertake regular analysis of MENARO social media work.
- Support regional introduction of new UNICEF Internet platform/ digital transformation project.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- University degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field.
- Two years of progressively responsible practical work experience in communication, print and broadcast media, or interactive digital media.
- Background/familiarity with emergency situations and with the regional political and humanitarian context.
- Experience with the UN is an asset.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
