The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Senior Communications Officer based in Manila, Philippines.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Senior Communications Officer will perform the following functions-
- Manages the day-to-day operation of ADB Avenue, a site within MyADB, designed to promote the sharing of information, ideas, and experiences in close coordination with relevant departments/offices
- Plans and manages editorial calendar for ADB Avenue and writes and edits content
- Supports managing the MTR blog site, including coordinating with departments/offices within ADB
- Ensures up-to-date articles on ADB initiatives and innovations on ADB Avenue and MTR blog site
- Provides editorial support for ADB Today, and contributes ideas to enhance efficiencies and improve content
- Supports DER’s role as the editorial advisor for MyADB
- Cross-promotes new items on internal communication platforms
- Monitors and analyzes readership statistics for internal communication platforms
- Undertakes editorial assignments to write articles on relevant ADB projects to be featured on digital platforms.
- Works closely with DER’s Content Group to provide writing and editing support as needed.
- Support marketing of stories and country specific content on internal communication platforms including MyADB
- Contributes in developing and implementing communication plans for ADB-wide internal events and initiatives, such as Management’s town hall meetings and knowledge-sharing events
- Assists in the implementation of other key events and initiatives carried out by DER, as needed
- Contributes to the smooth running of the Corporate Communications Team by performing back-up functions/roles, including for supervisor, as required
- Undertakes special projects to support communication initiatives, campaigns and events
- Performs other duties and ad hoc assignments as may be assigned and reflected in the incumbent’s workplan
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, international development, public relations, journalism, or related fields, preferably with Master’s Degree or its equivalent.
- At least 8 years of experience in communications-related fields, preferably as a writer or editor for print and online materials, in a reputable organization.
- Proficient in the use of standard office software programs including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint; working knowledge of HTML and the use of content management systems.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, oversee, administer, and work independently, as appropriate.
- Customer-focused marketing and innovative thinking.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of ADB’s policies and operations, guidelines and procedures.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with all levels of ADB staff and external parties.
- Ability to work closely with multi-disciplinary team and turn diverse inputs into a cohesive plan.
- Strong ability to develop relationships and to work with cross-functional groups.
- Excellent creative, leadership and interpersonal skills.
