The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Coordinator / National Project based in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
UNDP supports national democratic transitions by providing policy advice and technical support, improving institutional and individual capacity within countries, educating populations about and advocating for democratic reforms, promoting negotiation and dialogue, and sharing successful experiences from other countries and locations.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Coordinator / National Project will perform the following functions-
- Coordinate and monitor the implementation of all project activities and resources in the country, ensuring progress toward achieving annual goals, ensuring that they are properly directed to fulfill the purpose and results of the project product.
- Mobilize the necessary technical assistance for the implementation of the project outputs and supporting partners.
- To serve as Technical Secretariat of the National Subcommittee Honduras project, as the TORs of this structure.
- Ensure the development and project management knowledge, including knowledge systematization actions, horizontal cooperation and the exchange of lessons learned.
- Ensure proper operational implementation of the project and its activities, to all project processes are performed in line with the Policy and Programs and Operations Procedures (POPP) of UNDP.
- Perform monitoring and management of the project evaluation, based on the indicators in the Results Framework of the project, Monitoring and Evaluation Framework and Plan for Monitoring and Evaluation as well as specific indicators identified for each plan annual work.
- Ensure that the financial closure of the project once the project also must be planned and carried out by the project, according to the procedures established by the POPP.
- Planning evaluation from the outset, ensuring the availability of sufficient resources to perform a quality assessment, including the establishment of a Reference Group Evaluation (GRE) representative and the existence of a Management Response to the recommendations of time the evaluation.
- Coordinate operational implementation of activities with the UNDP Regional Centre LAC, with the responsibility defined in the Regional Center of the requirements of project implementation (contract processing, travel, workshops, payments, etc.);
- Ensure the preparation and presentation of the following reports to the Regional Steering Committee and National Subcommittee, the donor and the UNDP.
- Prepare semiannual progress reports, describing the project activities, results and impact, and summarize the rate of implementation. These progress reports shall also contain financial and budgetary projections.
- Preparing annual reports, including a detailed analysis of selected activities and report income and expenses.
- Perform any other tasks as required to give successful and well coordinated response to issues related to Citizen Security in Central America
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Higher specialist training at Masters level in Economics, Management, Social Sciences, Political, Economics or related field.
- Graduate management / project management are valued.
- Work experience at least 5 years in planning, management, monitoring and results-based programs and projects related to crisis prevention and recovery, development and governance, of which at least 2 years of professional experience directly related to public safety evaluation or violence prevention.
- Work experience in a multicultural environment, particularly in the UN system is desirable.
- Proven ability in communication, negotiation, team management and motivation.
- Implementation and management with proven mechanisms of strategic planning, results-based management and monitoring and evaluation experience.
- Knowledge of native Spanish.
- Advanced command of English (oral and written).
- Availability is required to travel regularly, especially in the area of SICA.
- Knowledge of administrative and financial management of projects
- Experience in personnel management and operational systems.
- Managing Windows and Microsoft office environment to advanced level.
- Knowledge and / or experience in network-based systems.
