The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Economics Officer based in Manila, Philippines.
The Economics Officer is responsible for providing research support and technical analysis on specific topics in development economics of operational relevance to support the division and department.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Economics Officer will perform the following functions-
- Contributes independently to the division and department by covering all or a combination of the following functions: supports economic research studies/publications, supports economic evaluation and analysis, TA activities, database management, and divisional support.
- Supports preparation of knowledge products, services and partnerships in line with the division and department’s work plan and strategic priorities.
- Leads coordination with department of external relations and department of administrative services during production process of various research outputs.
- Coordinates with regional departments and relevant government agencies/ministries in organizing and conducting dissemination events.
- Ensures the comprehensive and accurate preparation for the review of project-related documents (including feasibility studies, project briefs, project completion reports [PCRs], among others) and other papers.
- Provides research support and drafts qualitative analytical sections with corresponding quantitative support for various reviews/studies on project economic analysis and methodological or sectoral policy issues.
- Undertakes research in sector and thematic studies of operational relevance, assists in developing and applying new methodologies of economic analysis at the country, sector and project levels, and in preparing good practice case studies.
- Provides technical and administrative support in the overall administration and management of regional and advisory technical assistance projects from conceptualization to completion.
- Assists in the preparation of the divisional budget.
- Conducts ad hoc quantitative research activities/assignments.
- Assists in developing and organizing staff learning programs on project and program economic analysis.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor’s degree Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or any related field, preferably with advanced training.
- At least 8 years relevant experience in policy research and project economic analysis.
- Experience in applying expertise in an international setting.
- A strong background in data compilation and analysis.
- Capability and background in policy analysis.
- Proven experience in writing detailed reports and research briefs.
- High level of proficiency in use of Internet and ADB-adopted computer applications.
- Ability to utilize and share relevant knowledge to benefit the broader ADB community.
- Abilityto liaise and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders of ADB
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams as a constructive team member.
