United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Education Specialist in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Education Specialist will provide authoritative technical guidance and capacity development support to facilitate the enhanced management and delivery of results to strengthen national education systems with a focus on equity.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Education Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Management and advisory support to the Regional Education Adviser and team.
- Programme development and planning.
- Programme management, monitoring and quality control of results.
- Advisory services and technical support.
- Advocacy, networking and partnership building.
- Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building.
- Provide advice to the Regional Adviser in establishing the annual work plan including developing strategies and determining priorities/targets and performance measurements.
- Coordinate work progress monitoring and ensure results are achieved according to schedule and performance standards and report to Regional Adviser critical issues for timely action.
- Provide technical assistance/advice to colleagues in the Section on all aspects of programme planning and monitoring.
- Perform the full duties of the Regional Adviser in their absence.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- An Advanced University Degree in education, economics, psychology, sociology or other social science field is required.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible relevant work experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in education at the international level, some of which is preferably in a developing country.
- Experience working in the UN system agency or UN organization is an asset.
- Background/familiarity with emergency operations and staff security.
- Proven capacity to analyze both qualitative and quantitative data is essential.
- High level expertise in education is essential.
- Good understanding of cross-sectoral issues, including adolescence, disabilities and ECD is an asset.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language is an asset.
