European Investment Bank (EIB) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Junior Compliance Officer in Luxembourg. The duration for the post is of 4 years.
The Junior Compliance Officer will contribute to the identification, assessment, monitoring and management of compliance issues related to the Bank’s activities, in the context of the strengthening of the Compliance function as announced by the President of the Bank.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Junior Compliance Officer will perform the following functions-
- Contribute to OCCO’s communication and training efforts towards compliance awareness building.
- Contribute to the assessment of the compliance of operations and other activities with the Bank’s policies, rules and procedures in the areas of relevance for OCCO.
- Apply and implement, where required, Compliance policies and procedures.
- Collect, centralize and manage all relevant information necessary for OCCO’s due diligence.
- Carry out such compliance controls as stipulated in the Bank’s rules and procedures.
- Prepare and dispatch the Bank’s Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML-CFT) questionnaires to the Bank’s intermediaries.
- Control that the Bank’s new financial counterparts have adequate measures in place against Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing.
- Keep abreast of new developments in the areas of relevance for compliance and of AML-CFT.
- Ability to draft notes OCCO opinions and recommendations.
- Liaise with external service providers for the timely delivery of outsourced compliance services.
- Prepare and keep updated Compliance policies and procedures.
- Advice on ethical issues.
- Centralize access and manage integrity alerts on EIB counterparts.
- Develop internal procedures in line with general EIB and OCCO processes and procedures.
- Input and update compliance related information and documents in compliance dedicated area (PiRAT/GED).
- Manage compliance risk rating of EIB counterparts.
- Identify derogatory information in dedicated databases.
- Advise on alignment of EIB group Compliance policies.
- In general, address any compliance issue at the request of the Chief or the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- University degree preferably in economics, finance, law or political science.
- Minimum 3 years professional experience in areas related to OCCO competences.
- Knowledge of standard and compliance-related computer tools and full proficiency in internet searches.
- Knowledge of compliance-related computer tools would be an advantage.
- Very good knowledge of English and/or French and a good command of the other.
- Knowledge of other languages would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of and experience in AML/CFT regulations, best practices and activities would be an advantage.
- Knowledge and experience in issues of interest to OCCO (e.g. Ethics, Conflicts of interests, Market Abuse rules, and investigations) would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of the Bank’s objectives, policies, procedures and organization.
- Knowledge of EIF objectives, policies, procedures and organization and Compliance policies would be an advantage.
