Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Junior Environmental Economist in Paris, France. The duration of this post is 1 year.
The Junior Environmental Economist will be supporting analytical work on the linkages between environmental and economic policies in the OECD Environment and Economy Integration (EEI) Division.
The mission of OECD is to promote policies that will improve the Undertake research and contribute to the production of documents, working papers and publications, including drafting notes and preparing technical annexes.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Junior Environmental Economist will perform the following functions-
- Contribute to analytical projects studying the linkages between environmental and economic policies, especially in the areas of resource efficiency and environmental policy design and evaluation.
- Undertake reviews of and synthesize relevant literature, develop the necessary analytical, empirical and data foundation to address the environmental and economic policy interactions in specific topic areas, draft reports, and contribute to the preparation and support of meetings and workshops.
- Contribute to the dissemination of findings, including through maintaining contacts with relevant government officials and other experts.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- An advanced post-graduate university degree in environmental or micro economics, environmental sciences, or a related discipline.
- At least 1 to 3 years of experience working in environmental policy analysis, research or other policy-related fields, preferably within a research organization, government or an international organization.
- Some exposure in the work areas of the EEI Division, inter alia in the areas of environmental policy and evaluation; trade and environment; and resource productivity.
- Experience organizing large international events, or more generally experience of working at the international level. Skills in econometric analysis would be an advantage.
- Proven ability to draft analytical and/or policy-relevant papers that are clear, concise and reader-friendly.
- An excellent command of one of the two official languages of the OECD (English and French) and working knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the other.
