CAMRIS International is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, Education in Nigeria.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, Education will serve as the M&E, training and capacity development lead for USAID/Nigeria DO 2: A healthier, more educated population in targeted states.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, Education will perform the following functions-
- Design and implement early grade reading assessments (EGRAs), surveys, impact and performance evaluations, and education sector analyses.
- Present evaluation, survey, analysis and assessment findings, recommendations and conclusions to USAID, implementing partners and other stakeholders.
- Review, revise, and maintain the USAID/Nigeria Mission Performance Management Plan (PMP), project M&E plans, and activity M&E plans related to DO 2, education and health.
- Manage the process of high quality performance monitoring by project staff and implementing partners including: data collection, monitoring, reporting, dissemination, and related tasks.
- Integrate gender, disability-inclusive, and conflict sensitive measures into programming and activities, ensuring that they are consistently and systematically tracked and reported in accordance with USAID data reporting requirements.
- Serve as primary point of contact for USAID/Nigeria DO 2, education and health team.
- Lead, facilitate and participate in M&E workshops, training and capacity building activities with USAID and implementing partner staff.
- Conduct data quality assessments in the field.
- Attend local, regional and international meetings, as required.
- Travel throughout Nigeria as needed.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Advanced degree in the field of education, philosophy, international relations, economics, political science, public policy, statistics, and/or other relevant field.
- Minimum of seven years of experience in monitoring and evaluation.
- At least three years of M&E experience of early grade reading, access to education in crisis and conflict, teacher trainings, non-formal schooling, and reading skills. Experience with early grade reading assessments (EGRA) highly preferred.
- Experience implementing education related M&E activities in the Northern regions required – Sokoto, Adamawa, Gombe and Yobe states.
- Prior research experience focused on governance issues in the Nigerian education system required.
- Familiarity with USAID’s objectives, approaches and operations, particularly as they relate to monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
- Familiarity with USAID’s Education Strategy.
- Professional fluency in English.
- Professional working proficiency in Hausa preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
- Proficiency in quantitative analysis software such as SPPS is preferred.
