The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Information Technology Coordinator based in Suva, Fiji.
The Information Technology Coordinator will coordinate and implement ADB’s policy on Information Technology (IT).

Key Job Responsibilities
The Information Technology Coordinator performs the following functions-
- Develops, modifies and maintains computer-based application systems for the FO. Acts as local administrator of IT Infrastructure including computer network system, Lotus Notes, FO accounting system, Microsoft Office, and others.
- Acts as Office of Information Systems and Technology (OIST) Coordinator responsible for matters relating to IT equipment and requirements of the FO, procurement and maintenance of equipment and accessories, allocation of computers among staff, conducting hands-on training, maintenance of manuals, operation of Data Link facilities, and troubleshooting.
- Develops, implements and supervises routine periodic maintenance of computer hardware and accessories, including making necessary arrangement for repairs, local servicing and/or importation of spare parts of computer hardware.
- Ensures data security by providing necessary data backups regularly for servers. Guides FO staff on matters related to passwords, back-up, data integrity and confidentiality.
- Provides IT support to headquarters (HQ) missions and ADB consultants when required.
- Performs upgrades to ICT system as advised by OIST including the application of new technologies and procedures to improve FO ICT operations.
- Networks with IT staff of other international organizations to keep abreast with best practices in vendor sourcing and selection for equipment, hardware and software, applications and maintenance to ensure smooth functioning of IT systems and facilities.
- Ensures successful and uninterrupted functioning of computer network and communication systems by constantly monitoring data link between FO and HQ and coordinating with relevant departments/offices in HQ.
- Supervises the staff of the outsourced IT maintenance services to ensure effective functioning of the information and communication systems.
- Supports implementation of ADB IT policies and standards at FO that are appropriate for its business needs and technology availability.
- Provides support to telecommunication areas including videoconferencing facilities to ensure that options offered by current telecom facilities are maximized, that effective liaison takes place with HQ on effective communication, and that staff are well conversant in use of various communication facilities.
- Participates in the preparation of ICT administrative and capital budgets, hardware and software procurement required by the FO and ensures that ICT service deliveries meet expectations.
- Surveys, negotiates and arranges for backup internet service by local service provider; ensures service level agreement is achieved.
- Performs any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor and reflected in the incumbent’s workplan.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor’s degree related to Information and Communication Technology.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience. Related experience in international agencies will be preferred.
- Working knowledge of assigned area
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of ADB operational processes and procedures
- Proven technical skills through training and practical application on information and communications technology hardware and software (including satellite voice/data/video communications and local area network systems) in use in ADB, in field office and other organizations of similar size and requirements
- Good analytical thinking
- Ability to establish and maintain productive contacts with appropriate officials of host government, donor agencies and executing agencies
- Ability to work with individuals from different cultural/national backgrounds.
- Familiarity with local languages and institutions
- Proficient in ADB standard software programs and information technologies
- Able to liaise and work effectively with staff within own work location and throughout ADB
- Able to work collaboratively with teams as a constructive team member.
- Good interpersonal skills are desirable.
- Very good oral and written communication skills in English
